MORE than 200 people enjoyed a musical show designed to entertain and advise the elderly to be sceptical about scams. The Rotary Club of Okehampton organised the free show. Rotary president Kay Bickley said: ?The elderly are particularly vulnerable to conmen and we were very pleased to be able to bring this event to Okehampton and hopefully save somebody from becoming a victim of scamming.? After each of the four performances at the Charter Hall, those in attendance were treated to refreshments and received extra advice from police and trading standards officers. The Lions Club, West Devon Borough Council and others had stalls giving information about a wide range of issues. People were invited to bring their electric blankets in to be safety tested, because they have been identified as a common cause of house fires.
