POLICE this week alerted residents in West Devon to a card scam which is being posted to peoples? homes. The Trading Standards Office informed the police of the scam by a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service). The card suggests the company is unable to deliver a parcel and in order to retrieve it, residents have to contact PDS at a premium rate number. Police are advising people not to call this number as it is a mail scam originating from Belize. Anyone calling the number and hearing a recorded message will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. Anyone who receives a card containing the above details should contact Royal Mail Fraud on 0207 2396655 or ICTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at http://www.icstis.org.uk">www.icstis.org.uk or the local trading standards office.
