Okehampton U15s 52
Exeter Saracens U15s 0
IN their last game before Christmas Okehampton were rewarded with a well deserved win.
Okehampton attacked straight from the kick-off with the forwards delivering quality ball and the backs passing fluently. A penalty on Saracens? 22 was driven to the try-line where Matt West scooped up the ball and drove on for the score.
The ball was twice spun wide and with excellent use of the overlap John Hutchins ran in two identical tries after strong runs from Richard Bolt.
Okehampton scored again when Herrod-Taylor picked up from loose play to put Bolt in for a great individual try under the posts. Again the ball was given to Bolt in space, this time the vital pass coming from Stewart Down.
The pack were outstanding, winning possession and quickly releasing their backs.
Loose ball from intense tackling on the stroke of half-time led to Phil Woods picking up, breaking the tackles and running the length of the pitch to score his first try for the club leaving the score 40-0 at the interval.
The ball was kicked deep early on whereupon good passes led to Gary Sizmur drawing the tackler and popping to Jack Preston who used his pace to score.
Okehampton?s final try came after Herrod-Taylor burst through the tackles to give the ball to the ever-present Turner who dived over to conclude the match 20 minutes early due to Saracens having four injured players. Conversions came from Down (3) Herrod-Taylor (2) and Bolt.
