FIREFIGHTERS in Callington are feeling festive and inviting everyone to join them on Saturday, December 14, when the station will be transformed into Santa's Grotto.
Father Christmas himself will be in situ, listening to children's wish lists and offering a small gift to each of them.
The event, running from 3pm to 7pm, is being held as part of the 70th anniversary of The Fire Fighter's Charity.
There will also be a small craft fair at the event, fire fighters will be giving information on fire safety, Callington Town Band will be entertaining visitors with Christmas carols, and there will be roast chestnuts, mulled wine and mince pies on offer. The event will also see the switching on of the fire station tower Christmas lights.
In the run up to the event, Callington fire station will be holding a Grand Scavenger Hunt in the town.
Starting on Sunday, children can pick up a scavenger form from various retail outlets in the town and from the town hall, and will have until December 14 to find all the items on the list in different locations in the town.
There will be around 40 obscure items hidden, all Christmas related and unusual for the shop it is in. The scavenger hunt is free to participate and completed forms should be handed in to the fire station by December 14. All forms will be put into a draw to win a prize.
