FATHER Christmas made a special visit to Tavistock recently for the Tiddybrook Teen Project (TTP) Christmas Fair.
Visitors to the fair, held at Whitchurch Primary School, enjoyed arts and craft stalls, a tombola and festive refreshments while raising money for an ongoing project to build a youth shelter within the Tiddybrook Estate at Whitchurch.
The TTP was set up by the Tiddybrook youngsters, along with teenagers from Bishopsmead, to try to raise more than £8,500 to build the communal facility.
The idea came from the youngsters following complaints from local residents about the noise in the park areas of the estate. The youngsters managed to raise £254.20 from the Christmas fair, which will be put with the £119 raised from their Hallowe'en fund raiser to go towards their total.
Thanks were expressed to chairman of the residents' association Lee Whiting, West Devon Councillor Alison Clish-Green, resident Trish Curry, West Devon Homes and Santa.
