STAFF at Make a Difference took the plunge recently and completed a charity sky dive to raise money for the upkeep of Trident House in Tavistock.
Make a Difference is a facility that offers people, who have experienced or continue to experience mental health issues, a place to take part in activities or make new friends.
Sandy Edney, secretary at Make a Difference said: ‘Seven of us took part – it was wonderful! So fun but really scary sitting on the edge about to jump off of the plane. Everyone was very supportive and we were all strapped on to an instructor who explained everything to us.
‘We think the total raised is over £2,000, we don’t have the final amount yet but it will be around that sum. The money will go towards the upkeep of Trident House which is £1,200 a month, so hopefully it will last us for two months.
‘I would like to thank everyone – there were lots of people there from Trident House and lots of other people who contributed.
‘We are also having a table top sale at Trident House on Saturday November 28, 10am to 3pm. Everyone is welcome to come and look around.
‘We have also been chosen to be sponsored by White Stuff in Tavistock and Tesco is giving us its overflow waste food. We are being very well supported at the moment.’
