AT last some better weather gave members of Okehampton Golf Club the chance to play in the dry. On Wednesday the ladies played a foursomes Stableford for the Molly Grant Salver. The competition was close and the winners only triumphed on countback of the back nine. This gave Lin Atkinson and Doris Jewell the Salver which was presented by Oke's lady captain Cherry James. In second place were Pam Jarman and Mary Keir with the same score of 31 points and third were Jane Warren and Cherry James who had 30. The fourball better ball Stableford held on Saturday was also held in dry, if cold, conditions. Again the scoring was good with Chris Hurley and Richard Johnson winning division one with a fantastic round of golf to score 47 points. Second were Neil Penfold and John Flavin who had 45 while in third place with 44 were Paul Skidmore and Russell. Division two was won on countback with Peter and Shirley Stunell having the best back nine scoring 45 points. Second with the same score were Horace Floyd and Denis Jenkins, third were Kerry Skinner and Paul Ayris on 44.
