CARLY Hicks and Jon Parsons from Launceston, along with friends Laura Hawken and Matt Stainer from Lifton, completed the British 10K London Run to raise money for local children's charity CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids).
The sponsorship money raised by the runners will go a long way towards funding the free respite breaks the charity provides for disadvantaged children.
Carly Hicks from Launceston said: 'Since going to university I've realised how much I took growing up in our beautiful part of the country for granted.
'The respite breaks that CHICKS provides for really deserving children, help them to swap their cities lives for our countryside. So my friends and I decided to do the reverse and got sponsored for going up to London to run the British 10k.
'It was pretty tough going, especially on such a hot day, but 24,000 other runners, all running for 24,000 different reasons, made for a great atmosphere and gave us great motivation.'
