GO the extra mile this weekend for Sport Relief as Lydford hosts one of hundreds of events taking place around the country to raise money for charity. North Tawton ladies rugby team will be starting off the event which gets underway from Lydford sports field at 11am this Saturday. Those taking part can run, walk or skip the one mile route around the Lydford area. To keep numbers to a manageable number, there will be four separate mile runs taking place throughout the day. For those not covering the route, a painting competition has been organised for local schoolchildren. There has been a good level of entry for the event so far, but there is still room for more people to join in. Anyone who would like to enter the race can visit http://www.sportrelief.com">www.sportrelief.com to download the sponsor forms. Alternatively turn up and register on the day. It costs £5 for adults to enter, £12 for a family of four, and £2 for the under 16s. The money raised is divided between helping disadvantaged children in this country and abroad.
