HATHERLEIGH Rotary Club and Hatherleigh Cricket Club’s annual Fun Day will be held on Sunday, August 28, and will feature a high-tech drone during the Rotary Club’s annual treasure hunt.

This year’s treasure hunt will have ‘treasure hunt markers’ sold on the day and a drone will then be used to drop a ball over the marked area in order to pick a winner.

Entrance to the fun day will be free for all and will consist of a whole host of various stalls, events and activities, including a dog show that will start at 1pm.

The Rotary Club’s aim is to raise funds in order to support charity causes locally, nationally and internationally.

This year the main beneficiaries will be Devon Air Ambulance and the North Devon Hospice.

Hatherleigh Rotary Club spokesperson Dennis Bater said: ‘We hope to include even more local groups this year making it an even bigger community event.

‘We will be pleased to welcome any other local charity groups who would like to take part and raise money for their own charity.’
