AN EIGHT-YEAR old from Lifton has been announced as the winner of a Christmas card competition for Okehampton's Moorland Fuels.

The company created templates of its tanker and encouraged budding artists to turn the tanker into works of art by adding colourful Christmas designs. Rosie Harris turned the tanker into a reindeer being ridden by Father Christmas.

The card will now be delivered to the company's customers throughout the festive season.

Ben More, Moorland Fuels' managing director, said: 'We had more than 100 entries into our Christmas card and the standard of entry was very high. Our staff members and a team from our fuel supplier BWOC judged the entries and chose Rosie's artwork. They all loved the creativity of turning the tanker into a reindeer.'

Rosie will receive a family day out at Crealy Adventure Park, and Moorland Fuels has donated £25 to Rosie's chosen charity Friends of Lifton School, which is her primary school. The charity is raising money for new outdoor play equipment.

The competition was launched at the Okehampton Show, where Rosie picked up her entry form. She enjoys drawing and has a Blue Peter badge for drawing.
