THE Dadds family and people of North Tawton are again raising money for the RNIB with a coffee morning on Saturday May 19.
Rose Dadds, one of the organisers and a long-term supporter of the RNIB, said: 'We are inviting people from miles around to support their North Tawton neighbours by coming along to the event.'
The coffee morning promises tasty home-made sponges and cakes, all made by Rose, her daughter, Carole, and their loyal group of friends and supporters.
The town has already been supporting the charity for a long time, with a weekly raffle, coffee mornings and other events having raised more than £50,000 for the RNIB's Talking Book Service.
This has led to over 50 new books for the Talking Book Library being produced. The service allows people with sight loss to read a wide array of books —from Harry Potter to Agatha Christie, there are 15,000 titles to choose from, and the donations from North Tawton help to make it possible.
This year's event takes place at North Tawton Town Hall from 10am. Tables are available at £4 each and can be booked by calling Rose Dadds on 01837 82130.
