IN reply to the letter from Geoffrey Cox printed (September 19):
Come on, Mr Cox, the blame cannot be laid entirely at the hands of the Labour Government. Can you not remember that your Conservative Government sold the countryside down the river by signing the Rome Treaty in 1972?
From there, farming began to sink, reducing employment on the land and those relying on farming. The 'callous approach' continued with the signing of other treaties since.
