TWO children and two members of staff from Whitchurch Primary School last week journeyed to Romania as part of their Comenius Project. The project involves a study of children's games in different countries. While in Romania, the group met teachers and children from Turkey and Poland, as well as the host country. A spokesman for Whitchurch School said: 'They had a terrific time and the hospitality was fantastic. The children visited a local science museum, had a cruise on the River Danube and saw many other aspects of life in Braila, which is 200 miles from the capital city of Bucharest. 'Important friendships were cemented and they are all looking forward to the next stage of the project. This will involve a visit to Poland and the production of a video and book of games.' Rachael Tucker and Catherine Dowle really enjoyed the whole experience, particularly as neither girl had ever flown before. But now they have been on four aeroplanes and count themselves experienced travellers!
