ONE of Britain?s premier Blues-Rock bands returns to the Wharf on Saturday. The Hamsters are no strangers to West Devon audiences and are assured a warm welcome.

Hailing from the hinterland of the Thames River Delta they are now in their sixteenth year together and will soon have notched up their 3,250th concert.

Their success has been achieved through hard work with the band handling all their own affairs ? thereby disproving the popular misconception that it can?t be done without a major label.

Although primarily performing their own material they are widely regarded as leading interpreters of the music of Jimi Hendrix and more recently ZZ Top.

Originally forming for their own amusement , the Hamsters enjoy the irony of being an aggressive band with a cuddly name. Although serious about what they do they don?t take themselves too seriously.
