AN evening of classic and original rock music next month will help raise money for charity.

Paul Green from Mary Tavy has organised the event in aid of Help for Heroes — four bands are giving their time for free to provide an exciting evening of music.

The concert takes place at the Wharf in Tavistock on Saturday July 14, with local bands Kitty and the Lost Boys, Firefly, 3's a crowd and the Stringfellows — a group of RAF firefighters who are reuniting from the four corners of the UK for a one-off gig.

Paul was inspired to organise the event through his professional involvement in the Help for Heroes projects currently taking shape at HMNB Devonport. Paul said: 'The building of a new accommodation block and rehabilitation centre for injured servicemen and women really highlighted the scale of the work this charity are involved in, and the continuing need to raise funds.'

Contact the Wharf Box Office on 01822 611166 for further information. Tickets are £8 in advance or £9 after 6pm on the night.
