AN INNER wall at an Iron Age fort on Dartmoor has been traced thanks to the work of Sticklepath and Okehampton Conservation Group.
The wall, believed to be from the Neolithic period, was part of the fort on East Hill near Klondyke Corner.
The group has been clearing gorse at the site and the result of their work is, they say, very satisfying.
After building the footbridge in Simmons Park this summer, the group is scheduled to erect a similar bridge over a stream near Dolton.
This work, part of the Tarka Trail improvement programme, will be carried out tomorrow (Friday). The meeting point is Sticklepath Foundry car park at 10am. Co-ordinator is Bert Crocker and inquiries should be addressed to Ian Bowkley on 01837 840435.
