A FLIGHT in a glider and a brass band concert are just two of more than 50 items on offer at an auction of goods and promises being held in Tavistock Parish Centre this Saturday.
The event is being held to raise funds for the Stannary Brass Band and wielding the gavel will be local auctioneer Robin Fenner, who hopes his help will assist the band to raise money to purchase more new instruments.
Stephen Gray, band spokesman, said: 'Once again, the businesses of Tavistock and the surrounding area have come up trumps!
'Their continued support of the band is wonderful and very much appreciated.'
Mr Gray said another of the items on offer at the auction is a hand-painted silk scarf, donated by the band's patron Angela Rippon, who was keen to support the event.
The auction begins at 7.30pm on Saturday April 27 — admission free, all welcome.
