THROWLEIGH village held its first bell ringing competition for the Charles Mosse Memorial Trophy in St Mary's Church last weekend.
Nine teams took part in the event, which saw the women of the village provide sustenance for the ringers and visitors to enjoy during an afternoon of ringing.
Judging the competition were Percy Pester and John Coulthirst.
A day of music by Tomás Luis de Victoria was directed by Renaissance specialist, Margaret Westlake, and welcomed 14 singers and instrumentalists into the church.
Proceeds from both events went to the Friends of Throwleigh Church, who aim to raise funds towards the maintenance and improvement of the church building.
The village will also be holding a barn dance, with plenty of entertainment from the Dartmoor Pixie Band.
