South Dartmoor Riding for the Disabled Group is looking for new volunteers to help provide its much-appreciated service. The group meets regularly on Tuesdays from 6.15pm to 8pm and when weather permits uses an outside school at stables in Bickleigh, on the outskirts of Plymouth, throughout the summer months. All kinds of help are required, from instruction, leading ponies, side-walking and helping with mounting, to practical help with record keeping, gate duties and making the tea or coffee for other helpers and riders. The first get-together for new volunteers will be on April 22 and anyone interested should ring secretary Pam Missen on 0845 450 6816 as soon as possible. Volunteers have to be aged 14 to 76 due to insurance restrictions.
