Rachel Ware, aged 17, of the Spooners and West Dartmoor Pony Club has been selected to go on the 2011 Pony Club Hunting Exchange in the USA.
Pony Club members with their full Pony Club B test or higher were invited to apply and Rachel, who lives in Sampford Spiney, has been selected along with three other applicants from the UK.
Hosted over almost two weeks in early March by the US Pony Club the trip will be based in Northern Virginia and Maryland and hunting will be with some of the oldest hunts in the country. In addition to hunting there will be a trip to Washington DC for sightseeing, farm tours, and an afternoon at a point-to-point. Rachel who attends Tavistock College said: 'This is a once in a life-time opportunity and I'm so lucky to be given it. I can't wait to go!'
