TAVISTOCK Second XI secured an excellent victory in their first league game of the season.
Tavistock skipper John Rich won the toss and asked Feniton to bat first. they struggled against an excellent bowling performance, especially Dave Jeffrey whose figures of 6-36 showed how good he was.
Tavistock lost two early wickets with Rich and Jeffrey going cheaply against a good opening bowler in Mython, but Johns and Thomas took their time and batted superbly to see the home side pass the visitors? target with 16 overs to spare.
Steve Johns completed his first 50 of the season in excellent style. A thoroughly deserved victory that bodes well for the season ahead.
