Tavistock 72 Liskeard 7 TAVISTOCK completed their league season with a resounding twelve try romp against already relegated Liskeard on a wonderfully sunny afternoon in front of a large crowd at Sandy Park on Saturday. The afternoon was also the last league game in charge for coach Mark Tomlinson and the victory was a good send off as Mark moves on to pastures new. Tavistock opened the scoring via winger Colin Smerdon and two further tries from Tom Hurdwell and Mike Lyddon saw Tavistock into a fifteen point lead at the and of the first quarter. Colin Smerdon then ran in a second try when he intercepted deep in his own half and further tries from Mike Lyddon, Jude Rotton and skipper Duncan Law together with three conversions from Josh Sutton saw Tavistock into a forty one point lead at the half time break. The second half allowed Tavistock to make a number of substitutions and one of these involved getting Colt forward James Lawson onto the pitch for his first fifteen league debut. Lee Greatrex opened the scoring in the second half when he burst away from a scum. Tom Hurdwell got a second try and Joe Lane also added his name to the list of scorers.
