OKEHAMPTON firefighters were called out to a road traffic accident on the Crediton road, where a car went through a hedge and nose-dived into a ditch at the side of the road.The accident happened at 5.41pm on Friday, December 5.
Station officer Ian Donovan said the car was almost vertical with two occupants trapped inside when the crew arrived at the scene. Firefighters had to secure the car using a winch before they could begin the operation to set the man and woman trapped in the car free.
The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance following her release from the vehicle, the man appeared to have sustained no serious injuries.
The fire crew left the scene at around 7pm.
l Firefighters were called out to Sourton Cross on the A386, where they had to remove a car which had gone underneath a lorry. The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 9, near the show garage at Sourton Cross.The driver was not trapped but was taken to hospital.
