A MAN was rescued in Tavistock by firefighters last weekend, after he fell off his mobility scooter and landed precariously over a seven metre drop.

Crews used lines to rescue the man, who was taken to Derriford Hospital via ambulance, following the incident at St John's Avenue near the River Tavy at 3.20pm on Saturday.

Police and paramedics were also at the scene.
