TAVISTOCK fire crews were in the unusual position of undertaking an equine river rescue last Saturday.
The horse became stuck in the river after finding itself unable to rescale the slippery banks.
Following a substantial amount of coaxing and various rescue methods the animal was finally back on dry land — somewhat damp but none the worse for the ordeal.
