DARTMOOR Rescue Group based in Okehampton were called in by police to help in the search for a missing man, in the early hours of Sunday morning, August 3.
The police were concerned for a 45-year-old man, who was reported missing near Moretonhampstead. The search was initially conducted by police officers and a police helicopter was deployed.
Dartmoor Rescue Group responded to the request for help and the body of the missing man was quickly located in woodland near Clifford Bridge. The discovery was made on the first sweep of the search area.
The missing man is believed to have died from natural causes. Inspector David Dale of Devon and Cornwall Police praised the group, saying their help was ?extremely useful?.
