OKEHAMPTON Rotary Club held its 20th annual Remembrance service last week.
The service, which raised £176.95 for the Poppy Appeal, was held on Wednesday, November 11 at St James' Church and was conducted by the Rev Philip Wagstaff.
President of Okehampton Rotary Club Michael Macklin said: 'The service featured the Royal British Legion, which does so much in promoting the welfare of those serving in the armed forces and those who have served.
'The importance of continuing to remember those who have sacrificed their lives in wars in serving their country was also stressed at the service.'
'We would like to thank the mayor of Okehampton, Cllr David Weekes, all councillors, and those from other organisations and the public who came to our service.'
Thanks were also expressed to organist Ian Cann, Okehampton College student Josh Quick, 14, who played the Last Post and Reveille, Member of the Royal British Legion Joan Gundry, who helped make the arrangements, and standard bearers, Ruth Webber and Ben Stephens from the Royal British Legion Okehampton branch.
