A NUMBER of people were injured following a collision on the A386 between Mary Tavy and Lydford on Sunday.

On arrival at the scene the two fire engines from Tavistock found an elderly woman was trapped in a vehicle. They used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof.

The woman was released from the vehicle and taken to hospital by air ambulance. Five other casualties were treated by ambulance crews.
