THE doors of St James’ Church in Jacobstowe will be thrown open to the public next week to show off the completion of the church’s recent refurbishment.

To mark the completion of the Heritage Lottery funded refurbishment of the fabric of the church, interested people are invited to an open evening on Tuesday, November 24 at 7.30pm.

Peter Steer, new chair of the Jacobstowe Community Group, said: ‘We thought it only right that the regular worshippers should get first sight of all the hard work that our group has put in to this revamping of the structure, and next Tuesday’s meeting is to say thank you to the wide band of volunteers that shouldered the bulk of the tasks either side of the professional work undertaken by the builders.’
