I REFER to the recent letter from Ann Keelan of Whitchurch concerning the forth coming changes in waste collection.

Personally, I fail to see why she is so concerned.

Since moving to Okehampton and benefiting from the current recycling collection service, I have not had to put out a sack of rubbish more than once a fortnight.

With the improved recycling scheme to be introduced, my monthly trips to the local recycling centre with plastic containers etc, will cease, so reducing my carbon footprint slightly.

Having moved from an area where the residents had wheel-bins inflicted on them, I can assure Ms Keelan that the West Devon proposals are far more sensible and less eyesore creating than those imposed on residents in many other parts of the country.
