AFTER listening to residents' demands, and to tie in with National Recycling Week and its theme of 'recycling one extra thing', West Devon Borough Council will now be taking envelopes — including the windows and sticky bits — in the kerbside recycling box, along with the card. National Recycling Week starts on Monday June 2, with World Environment Day on Thursday June 5. Council recycling officers will be in Bedford Square on the Thursday, up until 1pm, to promote home composting and recycling, and giving tips on reducing food waste. Andrew Barron, West Devon's waste education officer, said: 'This is very positive news and we can all appreciate how much lighter our rubbish bags are getting, with more and more materials being recycled.'
