Pupils have been studying the Tudors and last month welcomed Plymouth-based recorder group INCERTI who entertained with music from the period. They were dressed in Tudor costume and presented an extensive repertoire of music, using an impressive number of recorders, a garklein, sopranino, descant, treble, tenor, bass, great bass and cornamuse. A group of pupils played a simple piece on their descant recorders accompanied by INCERTI and two drummers. Next week, the pupils will take part in a Tudor banquet to celebrate Christmas, eating food from the period.
