THE fifth annual six-a-side football tournament takes place at Horrabridge this Saturday, July 13.
The competition is run jointly by the football club and the football French twinning club. This year there are a record 28 teams drawn into four groups of seven.
The top two in each group will go into the knockout stages of the Champion's Cup and third and fourth placed teams will go into the knockout stages of the Supplementary Cup.
There is a cup for each of the four teams in the finals and medals for all the finalists, with a perpetual shield to be presented to the Champion's Cup winners and a sporting trophy.
Lee Doncaster, captain of Ernesettle, winners for the last two years, said he hoped they could make it three in a row but the competition would be very hard this year.
Teams are reminded that player registration for those teams that have not already registered will be at 9am and due to the large number of entrants this year the first group matches will kick off at 9.30am sharp. Parking will be at Fillace Park Football Field and at the primary school only, Stewards will be on duty to direct traffic.
