THERE was overwhelming success at the Christmas family dog show at Duchy College Stoke Climsland , Canine Christmas Capers, attracting a record number of over 300 entries and raising more than £500 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Students studying the extended diploma in animal management organised and ran the dog show, giving them the opportunity to explore their organisational and marketing management skills as well as arranging suppliers, catering and rosettes.

The day involved numerous classes for the dogs to enter, with large entry numbers of 35 for each class. 'Santa's grotto' for dogs was extremely popular throughout the day. Dotty the beagle won best in show with his owner Ryan Greenaway.

Course manager Michelle Chappell said the college was 'overwhelmed' with the turnout..'
