TAVISTOCK junior Athletic Club members recently competed in the Sports Hall League Devon County Championships at Dawlish Leisure Centre.
Twenty-two competed and between them returned with a record 22 medals.
In the U10 girls', Robynne Honey continued to dominate the soft javelin event in gaining gold and was well supported in bronze position by Sarah Lucas, who also achieved a silver in the sitting throw.
Sarah Barratt gained a gold in the 1 lap hurdles and a silver in the standing l/jump.
The U10 boys were down in number due to illnesses but Nathan Wonnacott and Alex Cuthbert did well against older boys in gaining a silver and bronze in the v/jump.
Louise Lucas gained gold in the sitting throw and bronze in the soft javelin.
The U11 boys had Jimmy Hubbard win gold in the s/long jump, just missing out on a further two medals with two fourth places. In bronze place was Luke Aspen making his debut at the championships.
Harry Wyatt gained bronze in the v/jump.
The outstanding girl of the day has to be Kyrelle Burton who came away with a gold, silver and bronze in her events. Emma Passmore had bronze in the 6-lap event.
The U13 boys, Ramone Burton, Oliver Curtis and Alex Richards gained one gold, two silvers and two bronzes between them — some achievement out of nine events.
One of the best results of the day had to be Adam Tofield competing in the U15 age group and coming away with a bronze in the 4-laps, where the competition was extremely good.
