THREE pupils from Lady Modiford's Primary School in Walkhampton enjoyed a day of chopping, peeling and blending recently as they took part in the regional Let's Get Cooking start-up day.
Pupils Harriet Groom, Eloise Glanville and Ajanta Mankoo-Bowers attended the cooking day with school cook Anne Hext-Williams and teaching assistant Jane Ellis-Morgan as part of the schools new cooking club initiative.
Lady Modiford's recently received funding to join the national initiative Let's Get Cooking — free cooking clubs for parents and children to teach them cooking skills they can use at home.
Jane Ellis-Morgan said: 'At the starter day the children had to prepare snacks, smoothies and had to prepare a cold buffet and hot meals.
'They had a fantastic time and made a crumble which they were allowed to take home to share with their families.
'They had a lovely, lovely day.'
