THE Rotary Club of Tavistock is on the lookout for candidates for this year's Youth Leadership Awards, involving a special one-week course at Kelly College this July.
Around 40 candidates are chosen each year for the course by Rotary Clubs in the Plymouth and Cornwall area.
The aim is to inspire and develop confidence and ability, to teach participants to become leaders in the community and develop interesting and useful lives.
The course at Kelly is an intensive programme of activities and tasks aimed at team-building skills, along with a series of projects and lectures from eminent members of the South West community.
Thousands of young people from 25 countries complete the Rotary courses each year, with just one from the Tavistock area sponsored by the local club or an employer.
