DJM U15s Defiance
Horrabridge Rangers U15s 1
Southgate Utd U15s 3
HORRABRIDGE passed their opponents off the pitch from start to finish and probably played the best football they had all season but unfortunately without reward.
Both player of the match Alex Pope and Max Burgess up front for Rangers caused the visitors problems all game and both had opportunities well saved by the visiting keeper early on.
Horrabridge continued to outplay Southgate for the entire half with the midfield of Eaton, Birch, Wright and Fry outstanding. It was Southgate however who took the lead with their only shot in the half when Whitehouse scored from 18 yards.
In the second half Rangers continued to batter their opponents but only good defending and some outstanding goalkeeping kept Southgate in front as Pope, Burgess, Eaton and Birch were all denied goal bound efforts.
However, Southgate mustered two further chances which both found the back of the net. Horrabridge grabbed a consolation goal with five minutes left when Eaton beat two defenders before seeing his shot come back of the cross-bar for Max Burgess to smash in the rebound.
Keyham Colts U15s 2
Horrabridge Rangers U15s 1
HORRABRIDGE started well, passing the ball with quality and with Harry Eaton at the centre of most things, created good chances but were guilty of some wayward shooting.
Rangers were the first to strike as the midfield of Fry, Wright and their player of the match Eaton combined well to set up Tom Manahan to fire home from 20 yards on his debut. Horrabridge continued to attack but again were guilty of missing chances.
The second half was more of an even encounter as Keyham used the slope to their advantage but the defence of Glanville, Johnson and Fuller defended their lines well. With 10 minutes to go Keyham were awarded a penalty which was converted and with minutes left Keyham scored the winner when Ley scored from two yards.
