Walton Developments 3 Horrabridge B 2 HORRABRIDGE Rangers made the short trip to Roborough for the third encounter between the two teams this season. Walton had run out clear victors on both previous occasions so Rangers had a point to prove. In a freezing wind both teams attempted to keep the ball on the floor and pass their way through the opposition. Walton looked lively breaking from midfield but the Horrabridge back four snuffed out early danger, with young centre-backs Matt Allen and Harry Hardy very assured. At the other end Kev Easterbrook was causing trouble for the Walton defence. On 20 minutes he was fed by David Harris and the big number 9 coolly lifted the ball over the goalkeeper for one nil. Then in the space of six minutes Walton scored two goals from nothing, the second particularly fortunate as a cross from the left found the inside of the back post, assisted by the strong wind. After the restart Horrabridge adopted a policy of shoot on sight? to make the most of the headwind and both crossbar and post were struck. Hardy then set Harris free down the right, he got to the by-line and squared for Rangers? top scorer Dom Beech to level the score. After the Horrabridge skipper Darren Orchard had to leave the field through injury, Walton made the most of the time it took the visitors to reorganise. The number 9 Andy Green fired from the edge of the area through a forest of legs to score the winner. So, Horrabridge came away without the points but with pride restored.
