Rodney Cup U16s

Horrabridge Rangers U16s 4

SB Frankfort U16s 2

HORRABRIDGE started this quarter final at blistering pace and for the first 15 minutes SB struggled to get out of the own half.

Williams in the SB goal was in superb form as he denied Kingham, Burgess, Northam and Eaton on several occasions. It was SB however who took the lead after 20 minutes with their first shot from a free-kick and 5 minutes later they doubled their lead when the SB striker superbly scored from 30 yards. Horrabridge reacted well and Jack Northam reduced the visitors' lead when he curled a left footed shot into the top corner. Just before half-time Rangers equalised when Max Burgess volleyed home from a Courtney Fry corner.

The second half was completely one way traffic as Horrabridge continued to pass SB Frankfort off the pitch and again the visitors were indebted to their goalkeeper. Rangers took take the lead after 60 minutes when Max Burgess turned his marker in the box to smash the ball past the keeper from 14 yards and they made the game safe 10 minutes from time when Harry Eaton's pin-point corner was met by the head of centre-back Aaron Johnson who powerfully headed past the helpless SB keeper from 8 yards.
