IN reference to the fundraising efforts for Dominic Lovett towards the 'handroid system' to make his hands work I would like to thank members of the public for their support.
Dominic, who lives in Horrabridge, is a tetraplegic, paralysed from the neck down, following injuries sustained while training with the Marines in Norway in 2008.
However, in true Green Beret spirit, this has not stopped him in trying to help others with severe disabilities.
Dom is working with Professor Roland Burns of Advanced Research Controls Ltd of Plymouth, on a 'handroid' system to make his hands work.
I would especially like to thank Lee Spencer, who ran the Dartmoor Double Marathon to raise funds for the project.
Also a special mention to the Horrabridge Combined Forces Group and the Horrabridge Cavaliers and schoolchildren, who also helped raise funds.
