BUSINESSES and individuals in Tavistock showed great support for a Times employee who went under the chop for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Times advertising executive Carol Garbett bid farewell to her locks and had her head shaved in front of many spectators on Pink Day at the end of October, raising £2,352.32 for the Breast Cancer Campaign.

Carol said: 'It has been a wonderful experience to become involved in something which affects so many women, and men. We have all been touched by the generosity of donations and would like to thank everyone involved for their support of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.'

Staff at Visage and the Hair Lounge in Tavistock also raised money for Breast Cancer Awareness by holding a prize draw.

The team launched the event during Breast Cancer Awareness Week, to win a £500 make-over and photo-shoot. The lucky winner was drawn on Dickensian evening and the staff managed to raise £406 for the charity.
