NORTHLEW and Ashbury Primary School's PTFA has come up with a green way to raise funds — with a 'rag bag' recycling bin.
Parents and residents can put clothes, shoes, boots, wellingtons and trainers, handbags, ties, belts, hats, bed linen and old clothes and material for rags in the bin, that is now in front of the school, in plastic bags.
Once the bin is full, a collection will be arranged.
The school will be paid money based on the weight of recycling done.
Any donated footwear must be in pairs. All clothes and material must be clean and dry.
