A CHARITY event raising money for the Breast Cancer Ward at Derriford Hospital is being held at the Bedford Hotel tomorrow (Friday).

The event has been organised by Nicole Fabienne Murray as part of her university degree in hospitality and tourism management.

A raffle and 'scrummy' cupcakes will be on sale from 9am onwards to raise money for the patients at the ward.

One of her modules for this year is event management in which she has to work in small groups to organise and manage a hospitality event.

Nicole and her team partner Sarah Chapman decided to take the opportunity to plan the event around a good cause.

Nicole said: 'We came up with the cupcake and raffle idea as a simple but effective way to raise some money for the cause.

'Myself and my team partner Sarah also decided on the breast cancer unit as both of our mums have been affected with cancer and were treated at the Derriford unit, therefore we want to give something back.'
