THE 17th Stowford Garden Produce Show was held on Saturday August 14, opened by Mrs Clemency Quinten.

Prizes were presented by Mrs Quinten and Anette Goswell, show secretary.

Quilting and patchwork entries were higher than in previous years. The judges commented on the quality and content of the entries, and praised the entrants for some good examples of quilting and patchwork.

Floral arts based on a world cup theme and an arrangement in a teapot were well worth a look.

Children's entries were as usual good, especially the vegetable animals, and many children entered the adult classes.

Overall show winners were: Adults, 1, J Chick; joint 2, S Allain, A Goswell. Children, joint 1, Liam Emberton and Jake Ackary; 2, Ryan Craddock. Winner of the Sylvia Canfield Trophy, Audrey Hennessey.
