FOUR staff members, past and present, of Lynbridge Dental Practice have been putting their sewing skills on show to raise money for charity.

Kate Steer, Lynne Chart, Tracey Smith and Val McCarthy have joined forces to form Lynbridge Ladies. It is their hope over the next year to raise as much money as they can for four charities by making quilts.

The quilts will be available to see and raffle tickets will be available to buy from Lynbridge House from now until Christmas.

The ladies' first quilt is now ready and proceeds will be donated to one of the staff members' son, Matthew Butler, who works for a small self-funding charity called Tourism Concern. The charity's principles and vision are to campaign for a world free from exploitation, in which all parties involved in tourism benefit equally and in which relationships between industry, tourists and host communities are based on trust and respect — http://www.tourismconcern.org">www.tourismconcern.org

Other charities the ladies hope to support this year are the Margaret Green Foundation — an animal rescue charity with centres in Brentor and Dorset. (http://www.themargaretgreenanimalresue.org.uk">www.themargaretgreenanimalresue.org.uk), the Triangle Centre — a chemotherapy outreach project formed to enable patients to be treated in local hospitals close to their homes (http://www.chemooutreachproject.org.uk">www.chemooutreachproject.org.uk), and Help for Heroes.

Raffle tickets are available from Lynbridge House at £1 each or three for £2.
