PLAYERS recently got their first glimpse of the coloured kit which will be used to play ?pyjama? cricket in the Tavistock and district 20/20 competition, stage one of which will be held on Sunday at the Ring, Tavistock Cricket Club on Whitchurch Down. Stuart Munday, one of the organisers, said: ?Excitement is mounting at the prospect of what promises to be a fun day for all, with bar and refreshments available all day and a tannoy and system with musical accompaniment to fours, sixes and ducks etc.? The first stage sees six local sides competing in the championship trophy: the Ordulph Arms, Mark Park Larkers, Milton Abbot, Calstock, Lifton and Lydford ? the winner will go on to compete in the premiership trophy on Sunday, July 15. Stuart added: ?The use of coloured kit and a white ball will add to the enjoyment of this increasingly popular form of cricket.?
