AMATEUR photographers are invited to get snapping again for the Tamar Valley Tourism Association's second photographic competition.

The theme of this year's challenge is 'Life in the Tamar Valley', which can be interpreted in any way the entrant wishes.

Margaret Blake, chairman of TAVATA, said: 'We're hoping that people will be inspired to take photos that represent all aspects of life in the valley.

'It could be wildlife, or pictures of people going about their everyday life, or taking part in one of the many traditional events that take place throughout the year.'

Following the success of last year's competition which focused on bridges, the judges have decided that only four photographs can be submitted by each entrant this time.

These can be taken using traditional or digital cameras.

There are three categories, for ages 5-11, 12-18 and over 18, and the closing date is May 31. Details of the rules, and entry forms are available from TAVATA's offices at Kilworthy Park, Tavistock or by phoning 01822 813622.
