SO, after 13 long years, our troops are coming home from Afghanistan — hooray! Put the flags out! What a total fiasco this has all been, as was Iraq before. Only 453 young men slaughtered and dozens more maimed for life. Was it worth it? Ask the many widows left behind, and parents now without their sons — was it worth it? I fancy not, as soon, this country will resume its state of turmoil with the Taliban once more in control. As for our war-mongering politicians who cannot resist getting involved with one conflict after another, and who believe Afghanistan has kept this country safer, absolute codswallop!
